Vets & Professionals Guide
How vets, trainers, and groomers fit into a MoaTails care team: what each role sees, what they can log, and how owners share records before a visit.
Professionals Get a Seat, Not the Keys
MoaTails has dedicated roles for the professionals in your pet's life: Vet, Trainer, and Groomer. Each one is scoped to their job. They see and log what's relevant to their work, and your family's day-to-day stays private. Inviting them works exactly like any other care team invite, and it's free for them.
The Vet Role
Made for keeping medical history in one place instead of across three clinics' systems and your camera roll.
A vet on your care team can typically:
Log vitals like weight and lab values, and review the history
Add appointments, so the next check-up lands on your calendar
Upload documents: prescriptions, lab results, vaccination certificates
Leave notes you'll actually find later
They don't see your care team or your daily routine; their window is the medical record.
Before a visit, you can also go the other way: send a Health Report PDF instead of inviting the clinic. Invite the vet when it's an ongoing relationship; send the PDF when it's a one-off.
The Trainer Role
Trainers can add tasks and appointments, log vitals-style progress, and leave session notes. Useful for keeping "practice recall 10 minutes daily" visible to the whole household, with the trainer seeing whether it actually happened.
The Groomer Role
The lightest professional role: groomers can log appointments and notes ("matting behind the left ear, book sooner next time") and upload before/after photos as documents. Your groomer remembers your dog; now their notes do too.
Tuning What They See
Every role is a starting preset, not a contract. From your pet's profile you can adjust each member's permissions per category (Tasks, Vitals, Appointments, Notes, Documents) at three levels: view, create, administer. The full system is explained in Care Team Collaboration.
FAQ
Does my vet need to pay for MoaTails? No. Care team members join free, whatever their role.
Will my vet get notifications about every meal? No. They only see the categories their role includes, and they control their own notification settings.
What if my clinic won't join another app? Skip the invite and bring a Health Report PDF or share the Daily Report instead. Same data, no account needed on their side.
