What We Store

MoaTails stores only what's necessary to provide the service:

• Pet profiles: Names, breeds, photos, health data you enter

• Calendar data: Events, reminders, completion records

• Documents: Files you upload (vaccination records, prescriptions, and so on)

• Account info: Email address, display name, preferences

• Team connections: Who you've shared pets with (see Care Team Collaboration)

What We Don't Store

• We don't track your location

• We don't read your contacts

• We don't sell your data to advertisers

• We don't use your pet's data for AI training

Encryption

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Documents are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.

Offline Data

MoaTails stores a local copy of your data on your device for offline access. This data is synced with our servers when you're back online. If you delete the app, the local data is removed.

Analytics

MoaTails uses optional analytics to improve the app. When you opt in, events are associated with your account so we can understand how features are used across sessions and devices. We never send your pet names, photos, or health entries to our analytics provider. You can opt out at any time in Settings. When opted out, we collect zero usage data.

Exporting Your Data

You can export all your data at any time from Settings. We provide your pet profiles, calendar history, and documents in standard formats. The full walkthrough is in Data Export.

Deleting Your Account

You can permanently delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Delete Account. This action is irreversible. All your pets, documents, calendar history, and team connections are permanently removed.

FAQ

Can my care team see everything about my pet? Only what their role allows. Permissions are per category and per person; the details are in Care Team Collaboration.

Is my data used to train AI models? No. Your pet's data is yours, full stop.

What happens to shared pets when I delete my account? Pets you own are removed for everyone. Before deleting, you can hand a pet to a co-owner with Transfer Ownership (see the Co-Owner Guide) so the household keeps the history.
