Managing Multiple Pets
How MoaTails handles multi-pet households: per-pet profiles, combined or separate calendars, pet limits per plan, and keeping a chaotic house organized.
One App for the Whole Zoo
Every pet in MoaTails gets their own profile, calendar, health history, and documents. The app's job is to let you see them together when you're planning the day and separately when you're at the vet with just one. Here's how multi-pet life works.
Adding More Pets
Add each pet the same way you added the first: from the home screen, tap add and walk through the profile. The Adding Your First Pet guide covers the details. How many pets you can have depends on your plan:
Free: up to 3 pets
Plus: up to 20 pets
Premium: up to 100 pets
Pets shared with you count toward the same total, so two of your own plus a friend's dog you co-sit fills a free account.
Switching Between Pets
The home screen carousel is the hub: swipe between pets, and everything below (today's schedule, recent activity) follows the selected pet. You can reorder the carousel so the pets you check most come first.
One Calendar or Many
The calendar works both ways:
Combined view: every pet's events in one list, color-coded, for running the household morning
Per-pet view: just one pet's schedule, for handoffs and vet prep
Recurring schedules belong to a single pet, so "Luna: thyroid pill, 8am daily" never gets confused with "Biscuit: dewormer, monthly."
Set up the morning routine per pet once, then live in the combined view. You stop thinking "what does each pet need" and start just clearing the list.
Different Pets, Different Helpers
Care teams are per pet. Your partner can co-own both cats while the dog walker only ever sees the dog. Invites, roles, and permissions are covered in Care Team Collaboration.
Keeping Health Data Straight
Weight charts, meds, and custom vitals are tracked per pet, so trends stay clean. When you need to hand history to a clinic, the Health Report PDF is generated for one pet at a time, which is exactly how vets want it.
FAQ
Do shared pets count against my limit? Yes. The cap counts pets you own plus pets shared with you. If you're at the limit, accepting a new invite needs a slot.
Can I set different notification levels per pet? Yes. Notifications support per-pet overrides, so the senior dog's meds can stay loud while the goldfish stays quiet.
Is there a way to log a pet's day quickly? That's the Daily Check-in: one screen per pet with everything they need today, done in about a minute each.
